What Does It Mean?

During Q3 of 2026, the Arapahoe County Detention Facility continued to provide comprehensive mental health services to a high-acuity inmate-patient population, with a continued focus on timely access to care and consistent clinical support. The Mental Health team averaged 4,955 total mental health interactions per month during the quarter, reflecting the ongoing demand for behavioral health services and the team’s continued responsiveness to the needs of patients in our care. The availability of psychiatric services, medication management, and other mental health programming continues to support individualized treatment and patient engagement. Collaboration with community partners, the Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health, the 18th Judicial District, and the court system remains an important part of maintaining continuity of care and supporting appropriate transitions from the detention setting into the community. Continued participation in competency-related initiatives also strengthens communication and collaboration among agencies working to address complex behavioral health and competency needs. Mental health services remain a priority at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility, and the team will continue to monitor service trends, assess clinical needs, and identify opportunities to improve access, efficiency, and quality of care.
