Why is This Important?

Eviction filings are an indication of housing instability for households as those evicted tend to be displaced, leading to possible homelessness as well as additional barriers to future housing.

What Does It Mean?

In June 2026, Arapahoe County Courts recorded 954 Forcible Entry and Detainer (FED, aka Eviction) filings.  This is up from May 2026, which had 829.  According to data from 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, the average number of filings in the month of June is 703. June 2026 filings are 36% higher than the historical average.  

Please note pandemic years 2020 and 2021 are not included as they are outliers due to a statewide eviction moratorium.
