Why is This Important?

The FCI is best practice index used in the facilities industry that provides a long-view planning tool to assist the organization in understanding the impacts of deferred maintenance (maintenance needs that are known but not funded), and in prioritizing and planning for the capital maintenance costs related to its facilities over an extended period. 

What Does It Mean?

This measure shows the aggregate FCI score for the overall portfolio of county facilities. The FCI score comes from the facilities condition assessment, which looks at the current and anticipated conditions for all building systems and components for all County-owned properties over the 10-year period covered by the assessment.
