Workforce & Community Prosperity
Why is This Important?
Tracking data related to the Homemaker Program enables the County to better support older adults in our community—particularly those living on fixed or limited incomes—by proactively addressing factors that contribute to housing instability and reducing the risk of homelessness among this vulnerable population.
What Does It Mean?
In Q2 2026, the Program Supervisor and Leads have been working to clean up the HM waitlist by removing individuals who are no longer interested. This will give us a more accurate and up‑to‑date list. New inquiries are still being added; however, they will not be scheduled until the older entries have been fully reviewed and updated. Even with this cleanup process underway, openings continue to arise as clients transition or request different homemakers.
Definition
The Homemaker Program serves income-qualified, older adults and persons with a disability by providing free light housekeeping and assistance with heavier household chores. This measure indicates the percent of participating clients who are able to remain in their homes.
