An index measure that gauges the physical health of Arapahoe County residents.
Public health monitors population trends to identify health risks that may require prevention or policy action.
Tri-County operates programs directly to impact these issues and collaborates with partners throughout the county who are also working on improving the physical health of Arapahoe County residents.
The Physical Health measure did not meet its target in 2020. Only two of the five measure components – smoking rate and teen birth rate – improved. Between 2019 and 2020, more people reported not having health insurance and the death rate from falls continued to increase, while the percent of adolescents currently using an electronic vapor product remained the same. 2021 data will be released in the fall of 2022; we expect changes from the COVID-19 pandemic to be visible in these newer data.
